Having made arrangements via another broker (no longer trading), a lady contacted us for help.  She’d been diagnosed with cancer and approached her insurer to discuss claiming on her Income Protection.

On checking, the broker had actually arranged Critical Illness cover, NOT Income Protection.  But, the bigger issue was not all medical questions had been asked, and in some cases information provided hadn’t been recorded by the broker.  This placed significant doubt on whether any claim would be paid.

Over an eight month period, we liaised with the insurer, policyholder and her GP.  Ultimately, and to the insurer’s credit, they settled the claim in full.
